Help & FAQ

Everything you need to know about using DSOBOT in your Discord server.

DSOBOT is a multi-instance capable Discord music bot developed and maintained by the SentinelSec Studios - Gates Mill Network Operations Center (GM-NOC). It plays audio from YouTube, a local music library, and even live DJ streams — all controlled through Discord slash commands.

Our philosophy is simple: reliable audio, zero hassle. No ads, no premium tiers,no web dashboards you need to visit just to play a song. Type a command, hear music.
  1. Join a voice channel in your Discord server.
  2. Type /play followed by a YouTube URL. The bot will join your channel and start playing.
  3. To play from the server's local music library, use /local followed by a search term.
The bot automatically downloads and caches audio, so if you request the same song again it plays instantly.

Your playlists are tied to your Discord account and stored on the server, so they work across sessions.
Yes! If you've been set up as a DJ by your server admin, you can stream live audio from DJ software (Serato, VirtualDJ, etc.) through OBS or any RTMP-capable tool.

Head to the DJ Portal to create a session, get your streaming credentials, and start broadcasting.
Use /feedback submit in any Discord channel where the bot is active. Provide a short title and description of the issue.
  • You'll receive a ticket ID (like TK-a3f8b2c1) for tracking.
  • When an admin responds, you'll get a DM notification.
  • Check your open tickets with /feedback view.
  • Reply to a ticket with /feedback reply <ticket-id> <message>.
Server administrators can restrict bot commands to specific channels or users. If a command doesn't work:
  • Make sure you're in an allowed channel.
  • Check with your server admin about access settings.
  • Some commands (like /admin) are restricted to designated admins only.
A few things to check:
  • Is the bot online? Look for a green status dot next to its name in the member list.
  • Are you in a channel where the bot is allowed to respond?
  • Try /about — this is the simplest command and helps confirm the bot is reachable.
  • If nothing works, the bot may be restarting or experiencing an outage. Contact your server admin.
